OSS Scripting and Tools

Scripting and Tools are part of OSS
- Might save time (but probably not)
- Helps elucidate architecture
- Makes for easier modification and porting
Scripting Languages
- e.g.: sh, bash, perl
- different because
  - interactive / interpreted
  - allow accessing "operating system" facilities easily
  - easy to write (even at the expense of easy-to-read)
  - good support for strings, ints, and doubles (maybe not arrays and structs)
